Users constantly shift focus across different parts of the screen — "easy and clean" is a key advantage of iPad painting apps, and the interaction should protect it.

The drawing process is convergent — a linear sequence of undo and redo. But thinking is divergent: users keep adding layers or exporting versions to compare which one is better.

"Progress bar"
Building on the two-finger-tap shortcut for undo: if users keep their fingers down and rotate them, a round progress bar appears. The faster they move, the greater the acceleration of the bar.
"Tree diagram"
Different nodes represent different steps — draft, line, colour — making non-linear version history navigable.
